To give people a heads up, we are currently deep in development on a totally new site for Free Online League! The new site will offer LOTS of new features and bring it up to date with other Social Networking type websites.

We have now included the option to sign up and manage the league results and table manually. This is maintained using the standard web page editor (same as ther About Page editor).

This will allow people to simply cut and paste from any locally maintained league / ladders (excel or word) into the Results and League Table pages.

The option will still allow players / teams to sign up to a league and benefit from profiles and private emails.

As usual, any issues or requested tweaks please let us know.

We have now introduced the ability for teams to register and login into the league. The teams can create / amend profiles and also change / reset their passwords. Team login can be turned off in the League Settings.

Once a team registers, they need to be allowed access via the Master Team admin page.

This was quite a large change to the site, so please report any issues 8-)

We have now developed the ability for teams to have profiles. This is done via the "edit team" within the admin area where adding / amending games (select team edit). Once at least one profile has been created, a new tab is displayed on the league page.

Team Profiles are "season" based, so new season means new profile needed.

You can now set your league to be private. Only people that know your league password can access your league.

This can be set up by entering a non blank password in the "League Password" located in the Admin, Account Settings.

We have just introduced 2 new features.

You can now filter the results by clicking on a team name. This also shows by colour the teams winning / losing run.

You can now see a teams history over the seasons by clicking the team within the standings view. This takes advantage of the Master Team feature within the admin area.

We have introduced 2 new features today:-

Winning Percentage Calculation

You can now select how the winning percentage is calculated:-

[*] Ignore draws
[*] Treat a draw as a half win
[*] Treat winning percentage as number of points relative to total possible points

League Order

You can now select how the league positions are ordered.

[*] Standard Rules; points, goal difference, goals for, goals against, team name
[*] Winning Percentage; winning percentage, goal difference, goals for, goals against, team name

We have just put live the ability to add bonus points automatically. You can now access this via the League Admin link once you are logged in. This can then be accessed via the League Settings link.

The bonus points are automatically added to the standard points for a win.

If you enable this setting, you must run the Update all team data from the League Admin link!

New settings:-

Show bonus points: Enable / Disable bonus points
Points for a bonus points: How many bonus points to add
Goals Limit for a bonus points: Max number of goals scored to stop bonus points at
Bonus points given for how many goals: Allocate the bonus points for this many goals

Calculation is:-

Bonus Points = ((number of goals scored / Bonus points given for how many goals ) * Points for a bonus points)

Example:

Settings are set to:-

Show bonus points: True
Points for a bonus points: 1
Goals Limit for a bonus points: 12
Bonus points given for how many goals: 4

i.e. Add 1 bonus point(s) everytime 4 goals are scored but stop when 12 goals are scored.

Team A beats Team B 4-0 - Team A gets 1 bonus points and Team B dont get any

Team A beats Team B 7-4 - Team A gets 1 bonus point and so do Team B

Team A hammers Team B 22-8 - Team A gets 3 bonus points (capped by the 12 goal setting) and Team B get 2 bonus points.

Show Points: Show point in the league table
Points for a win: Set the number of points a team gets for a win
Points for a draw: Set the number of points a team gets for a draw
Show Draws: Show number of draws in the league table
Show Games Behind: Show how many games a team is behind in the league table
Show forfeit: Show number of forfeit in the league table
Points for a forfeit: Set the number of points a team gets for a forfeit. Set this to a negative number to reduce points i.e. -1
